Caedée [ kæde ] is a German band around the singer Kerstin Dietrich , which was founded in September 2014.

Genre

The band's style is cross-genre and includes jazz , chansonettes , pop music and Latin American music . Accordingly, the repertoire includes songs in German, French, English and Spanish. Some of these are adapted cover versions , but also songs that you have written yourself.

In addition to the singing of Kerstin Dietrich , the combination of classical guitar and the cajón , a Spanish box drum, ensures the characteristic sound of the band.

History and origin of name

Caedée was founded in September 2014 by the German singer Kerstin Dietrich and the Venezuelan guitarist Andrés Schwarzer, initially as a one-off music project for a wedding. Shortly afterwards the drummer Jörg Baier joined the band and completed the trio.

The new word Caedée [ kæde ] is the modified pronunciation of the initials KD by front singer Kerstin Dietrich. The accent aigu in the band name, i.e. the é , indicates the formative influence of the French musical genre of the chanson on the style of the band.
