Caesarius of Milendonk
The monk Caesarius von Milendonk (Caesarius de Milendonk) comes from Milendonk Castle near Neuss . From 1212 to 1215 he was abbot of the large Benedictine abbey of Prüm ( Diocese of Trier ). Later he resigned the abbot and became a simple monk in the Cistercian monastery in Heisterbach ( Archdiocese of Cologne ) at the time when Caesarius von Heisterbach was prior there. He is the author of a Registrum Prumiense from 1222, a copy of the Prüm Urbar with handwritten additions and comments .
