Cairnbaan, western rock carving

The rock carvings of Cairnbaan ( English Rock art at Cairnbaan ) are west of Dunamuck Cottage, south of Dunadd and north of Lochgilphead in Argyll and Bute in Scotland .

Cairnbaan, eastern rock carving

In the moor there are four rock outcrops almost flush with the earth's surface , on which complex rows of different cup-and-ring markings have been preserved. The complexity of the decoration varies between the areas, one of which is fenced.

Some rings are with bowls ( English cups connected). Six bowls have four rings, one has three rings, seven have two and eight are surrounded by a single ring. Several of the surrounding bowls have a single radial channel. There are also at least fifteen bowls connected by gutters. A badly weathered flat and large bowl has a single ring, which is connected to the bowl by a halo.
