Cala Bona is a holiday resort on the east coast of the Balearic island of Mallorca in the region ( comarca ) Llevant . It is located in the municipality of Son Servera in the middle of the wide bay Bahia de Arta, north of Cala Millor . In 2016 Cala Bona had 1087 inhabitants.

The village's sandy beach is 550 meters long and 9 meters wide and is located south of the port facility. In 2006 the beach of Cala Bona, like the marina itself, received the “ Blue Flag ” for excellent water quality and condition from the Ministerio de Medio Ambiente, Madrid. Hiking tours in particular are possible in the village itself. There are also opportunities for diving and fishing.

history
Originally, Cala Bona was just a small natural harbor between the Cap des Pinar and the Punta de n'Amer peninsula , where a few families lived from fishing. The men drove their llaüts (boats) to the surrounding rocky outcrops and pursued the breeding of lobsters . In 1924 the first inn in the village opened with the name "Cap Cupe", which later became the "Hotel Cala Bona".
With the growth of the neighboring town of Cala Millor , Cala Bona also grew into an important place for tourism from the 1960s . Today the localities are connected by the hotel and catering establishments. In addition to the 14 hotels, numerous bars and eateries, there is also a shopping arcade in Cala Bona.
The harbor and the promenade were redesigned and expanded in 2006. The harbor master received a new building and a gas station for pleasure craft was built.
Festivals
On July 16, annual celebrations with sea procession in honor of the patron saint of the seamen, Nostra Senyora del Carme , take place in Cala Bona .
