The Callisto cliffs are two rock cliffs of 550 m height on the east coast of the West Antarctic Alexander Island . One flanks the southern edge of the Jupiter Glacier , the other rises up directly on the banks of George VI Sound .
Trimetrogon surveys and aerial photographs of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948), as well as measurements of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey between 1948 and 1950 were used to map the cliffs. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 after Jupiter's moon Callisto .
