Crucifixion group on the Calvary

The Kreuzkapelle was built in 1627 at the north-western end of the city in front of the Neckartor on the road to Mosbach and in 1858 it was moved to its current location northeast of the city on the road to Tiefenbach .

There are three coats of arms above the entrance to the church. The coat of arms on the left is that of Augustin Oswald von Lichtenstein , House Commander of the Teutonic Order at Horneck Castle from 1625 to 1641. The coat in the middle is that of the German master Johann Eustach von Westernach . The coat of arms on the right is that of Wilhelm Michael Schliederer von Lachen , Hauskomtur auf Horneck from 1618 to 1625. Inside you can see the Lichtenstein coat of arms with the year 1657, as well as the coat of arms of the then Hauskomtur Philipp Jakob von Kaltenthal . A building inscription on the outside notes that Johann Fischer moved the chapel to its current location in 1858.
