Coordinates: 34 ° 3 ′ S , 150 ° 42 ′ E Camden Council is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . Camden is part of the metropolis of Sydney , the capital of New South Wales. The area is 201 km² and has about 78,000 inhabitants.
Camden is located about 52 km from the city center on the south-western outskirts of Sydney. The area includes 30 neighborhoods: Austral Park, Benkennie, Bickley Vale, Camden, Camden East, Camden Views, Camden West, Catherine Field, Cobbitty, Currans Hill, Elderslie, Ellis Lane, Grasmere, Harrington Park, Kirkham, Lefevres Corner, Mount Annan , Narellan, Narellan Gardens, Narellan Vale, Oran Park, Smeaton Grange, Spring Farm, Studley Park and parts of Bringelly, Camden South, Cawdor, Leppington, Mount Hunter and Rossmore . The council's administrative headquarters are in the Camden district on the southwestern edge of the LGA.

Camden Council has nine members elected by residents of the three wards (three each from North, Central, and South Ward). These three districts are determined independently of the districts. The mayor of the council is also recruited from among the councilors.
