In the east Rossmore is bounded by Kemps Creek, in the west by South Creek . The road connecting Bringelly with Horningsea Park is also the main road from Rossmore, running right through the center.
Previously, Rossmore under the name Cabramatta after the parish of Cabramatta known. In 1856 the railway line from Granville to Liverpool was extended and a station was set up on the site of today's Cabramatta . There was already a well-known stallion in the area called Rossmoor Stud , which in turn takes its name from a well-known stud farm, the Rossmore Lodge in Kildare , Ireland . To avoid confusion between the new train station and the old town of Cabramatta, the old town became known as Rossmore. It was also the focus of a novella around that time called The Cabramatta Store by Mary Theresa Vidal , which is now believed to be the first novella by a woman published in Australia.
