Camelle is a fishing village on the Costa da Morte in northern Galicia .
Geographical location
Camelle is located between the Bay of Traba, which belongs to Laxe , and Camariñas in a narrow bay at the mouth of the Rego de Camelle stream. Inside the Buch, at the mouth of the stream, there is a small sandy beach. The bay is protected on the western side by a pier; behind her lie the residents' boats.
Camelle belongs as a Parroquia to the municipality of Camariñas; it is located at the eastern end of their municipality. In addition to Camelle itself, the settlements of Arou, Camelle de Arriba and Lazo belong to the Parroquia.
Museo do Alemán
At the beginning of the Camelle pier is the Museo do Alemán . You are not allowed to enter the area, but from the path you can see many of the sculptures that Manfred Gnädinger made from stones and boulders and some cement. Some of the sculptures have been battered by weathering and surf; The small, colorful house of Man is left to decay - that's what the locals called Manfred Gnädinger. Many of the sculptures are still well preserved; some of them are reminiscent of the drip castles that children build from wet sand on the beach.
