camera was a German photo magazine that appeared six times a year. It was founded in 2012 by the specialist journalist Jürgen Lossau (DGPh), who was the magazine's editor-in-chief, and was initially published by the specialist publisher Schiele & Schön in Berlin. Since 2014 the Berliner Befife GmbH was the publisher for camera. The magazine was available in German-speaking magazine and train station bookshops (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol) as well as in specialist photo shops. The title advertised with the subheading "Mach dir dein Bild" and was a large-format photo magazine that primarily focuses on image design .

In May 2015 the publisher published a line extension with "Camerawoman", which was discontinued in March 2016 after only four issues. "Camera" also discontinued its publication shortly afterwards and was last hit the kiosks with issue 3/2016 in April 2016.
