Camerata Nucleare

The Camerata Nucleare - The Chamber Orchestra of the German Energy Industry e. V. is an orchestra of amateur musicians who are largely recruited from the energy industry. As the name of the orchestra suggests, many members of the orchestra originally came from the field of nuclear power generation. On appropriate occasions, the Camerata Nucleare also performs under the name " SINFONIA E, Symphony Orchestra of the German Energy Industry ". The orchestra is a registered and recognized non-profit association. It is mainly financed from membership fees, concert income and the sale of CDs, but also through donations from companies active in the energy industry.

The initiative to found the orchestra in 1986 goes back to Reinhardt Ettemeyer, the technical director of the Gundremmingen nuclear power plant at the time. The orchestra meets several times a year for rehearsals as well as for concerts and other performances.

The orchestra has been directed by the conductor Jaroslav Opěla and supported by various soloists since it was founded . In addition to other appearances, the Camerata Nucleare also takes part in events in the field of nuclear energy use and research. B. since 1987 in the program of the annual nuclear technology conference (see also German Atomic Forum ). However, the appearances are not limited to the nuclear energy environment. B. concerts in churches and other occasions take place. So far, the Camerata Nucleare has recorded 4 CDs of classical music, which can be obtained from the Camerata website.

The orchestra was dissolved in 2014.

The Camerata Nucleare has so far u. a. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Ludwig van Beethoven , Charles de Bériot , Leonard Bernstein , Georges Bizet , Antonín Dvořák , Georg Friedrich Händel , Joseph Haydn , George Gershwin , Albert Lortzing , Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Niccolò Paganini and Franz Schubert are performed .
