The Cameron University is a state university in Lawton in the State of Oklahoma . Founded in 1908, it offers students degrees up to and including Masters .

history

The current college was founded in 1908 as one of six agricultural schools in Oklahoma, the Cameron State School of Agriculture . The school was named after Evan Dhu Cameron , the first chairman of the school administration in Oklahoma. In addition to graduating from high school, the school also offered college courses since 1927 and was renamed the Cameron State Agricultural College . In 1941 school education was ended and only university education was offered. With the right to award a bachelor's degree since 1966 and a master’s degree since 1988, the college changed its name to Cameron College in 1971 and was given its current name in 1974. The Duncan Higher Education Center in Duncan was affiliated to the college in 2004 as a satellite campus Cameron University - Duncan .
