Camp Stanley

Camp Stanley is a base of the US Army outside Uijeongbu , South Korea and acts as an outpost of Camp Red Cloud , the headquarters of the 2nd Infantry Division and nuclear Association of 8th US Army .

history

The base existed as a tent city since 1955, and the first buildings were erected in 1969.

Before the general troop reduction of the US armed forces in South Korea due to the war on terror in 2005, Camp Stanley had the following units stationed:

  • 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery ( MLRS )
    • (1) headquarters battery,
    • (3) fire batteries
    • (1) battery of the 38th FA Regiment (A-38) This was a reinforced battalion with MLRS artillery with 9 additional launchers.
