Campbell Falls State Park Reserve is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the area of the municipality of Norfolk . It also extends to the Massachusetts area in one section . A landmark marks the border between the two states. In 1924 a law was created to regulate the park administration. The park has not been developed, but there is a hiking trail to the eponymous waterfalls on the Whiting River , which rush north of the border almost 30 m (100 ft) into the depth.
The park was established in 1923 with funds from the White Memorial Foundation . The predominant geological forms are granite and gneiss as well as parts of the Dalton Formation . During the ice ages, large masses of gravel were transported in. Below the falls, the Ginger Creek flows from the left and south into the Whiting River, which from there first makes a loop to the north before turning south and ⊙ flows into the Blackberry River .
