Camper is a Spanish shoe manufacturer from Inca on Mallorca .
The company name Camper means farmer in Mallorcan , because the island farmer's shoes, soled with disused car tires , served the company founder as inspiration for the first camper model. The trademark of Camper is the sole profile with oversized knobs. The company was founded in 1975, but emerged from a family tradition of the Mallorcan family Fluxà ( Lottusse ) that dates back to 1877 ; The company was founded by Lorenzo Fluxà and the company is based in Inca on Mallorca, where there is also a factory outlet . In 1981 the company's first company-owned store was opened in Barcelona , and from 1992 the company expanded across Europe with additional branches in major European cities.
