Campus was a German band from Munich . She sang in English .

history

The band emerged in 2002 from the collaboration between Martin Glück and Andreas "Andy" Barsekow for some songs. Next came Michael "Mika" Riegger as a drummer to complete the band. Finally, Dominik "Domi" Profanter and Sebastian "Basti" Seefried were recruited who had previously played in another band with Martin. The main songwriters are Martin, Basti and Domi.

After appearances for friends and at the Munich cultural festival Tollwood , they were engaged for their fourth appearance in the Munich Club Atomic Café . Marc Liebscher, manager of Sportfreunde Stiller and DJ in the Atomic Café, had heard of Campus. The band produced an EP together with Andy's brother in his studio in 2002, which they self-published and which can still be bought at concerts. The song American Song was often played on smaller radio stations, including college stations in the United States. With the song material growing steadily, Campus gave several appearances in and around Munich , and earned a loyal audience.

Together with Ingo Barsekow, Campus recorded their debut album Popular Music , which was released in 2004 on the Munich indie label Redwinetunes . With this album they went on an extensive Germany tour in autumn 2004 and then gave six concerts in Germany and Austria in the support program of Sportfreunde Stiller . In the 2005 festival season they were represented at the Taubertal Openair , among others , while the production of the second album was running at the same time.

In 2007 the band broke up. In 2008, songwriter and guitarist Martin Glück founded the band Kintopp together with Jakob Pschibl (drummer of the band Finca) and Arne Hörmann (vocals).

style

Campus cultivated a British-influenced indie pop , which later developed a bit more rock. Among other things, they were distinguished by the fact that they often change their old songs and present them live again.
