Washington Luna
Washington Luna , better known as Canario Luna (born August 19, 1938 in Montevideo , Uruguay , † July 31, 2009 ibid) was a Uruguayan singer of the Murga and Candombe .
Canario Luna was a central figure in the Uruguayan Carnival. His name is particularly associated with the pieces Brindis por Pierrot , El grito del Canilla , Adiós Juventud or El tiempo me enseñó . Among other things, he performed with Tabaré Cardozo . Luna, who died of complications from cancer, was buried in the Cementerio del Norte in Montevideo.
