Cancho Roano
Cancho Roano is an archaeological excavation near Zalamea de la Serena in the Spanish province of Badajoz . It is located three kilometers north of Zalamea de la Serena in the direction of Quintana de la Serena . The complex has been protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural since 1986 .

The almost square facility consisted of a building over a raised terrace and a moat. The house, made up of a suite of small rooms, had a fortified gate to the east that gave access to the courtyard. The building, which dates from around 400 BC. Was destroyed by fire, had two previous buildings that were built at the beginning of the 6th century BC. BC originated.
The building may have served as a palace with a sanctuary and depot .
