Candy Young

Candy Young (married Sanders; * May 21, 1962 ) is a former American hurdler who specialized in the 100-meter distance .

In 1979 she finished fourth at the Pan American Games in San Juan . In 1980 the US boycott prevented participation in the Moscow Olympics .

At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , she did not reach the goal in the preliminary run, and at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1989 , she was eliminated over 60 m hurdles in the first round.

In 1979 and 1985 she was US indoor champion over 60 yard hurdles. Starting for Fairleigh Dickinson University , she won the NCAA title in the hall in 1983 and 1984 in the same discipline .
