The Cap des Éléphants ( French ) is a cape at the southwest end of the Pétrel Island in the Géologie Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is an extensive, relatively flat and pebbly area that is flanked to the west by some small and rocky headlands.
French scientists named it in 1958 after the elephant seals often found here .
