The Cape Peremennyy ( Russian Мыс Переменный Mys Peremenny , German , Variable Cape ' ) is an icy cape at the Knox Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It is 72 km west-northwest of Merritt Island .
The American cartographer Gardner Dean Blodgett (* 1925) mapped it in 1955 using aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The name was given by Soviet scientists in 1956, alluding to the changeability of this coastline. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this name into English that same year.
