Capone-N-Noreaga ( CNN ) is a US Hip-Hop - Duo consisting of Capone (Kiam Holley) and Noreaga (Victor Santiago).

history

Capone and Noreaga met in prison in 1992 . After they were released from custody, they founded Capone-N-Noreaga. In 1997 her debut album The War Report , a classic of East Coast hip hop, was released . During this time, Capone was repeatedly detained. In 1999, after Capone got out of prison, they recorded the album The Reunion on Tommy Boy Records . The album was partly made while Capone was still in prison. The song Phonetime tells of the lives of the two during Capone's imprisonment. In 2001 the duo moved to Def Jam Records , but they had to cede their naming rights to Tommy Boy. This is how Capone-N-Noreaga has been called CNN since then. Her third album was released in 2003 under the name What up 2 Da Hood .

After an appearance on Hot 97 , the crew was shot in front of the New York radio station building. Several lawsuits followed that resulted in Lil 'Kim being jailed for one year in 2005 for false testimony. In 2005 Capone released his first solo album Pain, Time & Glory . In the same year Def Jam dissolved the contract with Capone. On March 17, 2006, Capone released their second solo album under the label Sure Shot Menace 2 Society . Noreaga's third solo album, One Fan a Day , was withdrawn after a long wait.

In December 2006 NORE's MySpace page said that CNN could reunite because personal problems between Capone and NORE had been resolved.

In June 2011 NORE announced via Twitter that the group was separating and that he was now focusing on his solo career.

The reunification followed in 2013 and in 2015 the fifth studio album Lessons was released .
