Capys (son of Atys)
Capys was a descendant of Aeneas and the seventh king of Alba Longa .
His predecessor (and father) was after Livius Atys , according to Ovid's Metamorphoses the name was Epytus and in Dionysius of Halicarnassus the name was Capetus . He ruled for 28 years. If one uses the reigns given by Dionysius of Halicarnassus with a back calculation from the traditional year of the founding of Rome , then this corresponds to the years 965 to 937 BC. The successor was his son Capetus .
