This takes place, for example, through lectures and workshops on current topics and is supported by the membership of several institutes and affiliated institutes of the universities.

Car also represents the Euregio Maas-Rhein both in the AutoCluster.NRW network of the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Economics, Medium-Sized Enterprises and Energy and in the Competence Networks Germany initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. In addition to these national network activities, car appears on behalf of its members at trade fairs and conferences.

Car is currently involved in the INTERREG IV-A project Automotive Cluster EMR 2012 . The aim of the three-year project is to improve the external perception of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine as an automotive location and to create awareness for the existing skills. Eight partners from the entire Euregio Meuse-Rhine are involved: AGIT GmbH, car e. V., Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM), Flanders' DRIVE (Provincie Limburg (B)), Cluster Auto-Mobilite de Wallonie (CAW), Université de Liége and Automotive Technology Center (ATC).

The association also cooperates with the regional networks and clusters of the Aachen region.

The partners include: AixTRA e. V., AKM e. V., Energy Hills e. V., INTRA e. V., LifeTecAachen Jülich e. V. and REGINA e. V.

Recruiting

In 2007, car expanded its activities at the request of members who discovered a lack of engineers and is now recruiting students and graduates from Aachen universities who wish to work for regional, mostly medium-sized companies in the automotive industry.

This activity, especially the campaign “1 application - 60 recipients” and the appearance at the recruiting event of the bonding student initiative , drew media interest. In the first half of 2007 around 40 applications were generated for companies in the Euregio, which led to job interviews. The service package, which is summarized under “1 application - 60 recipients”, was awarded 3rd prize in the “Competence Network 2008” competition in February 2008 by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology .
