Origin and history
On the subcontinent of India, independent and almost unknown types of dogs have developed that have been bred to breed . This includes the greyhound breed Mudhol Hound.
The Mudhol is an ancient breed from the area of the Dekkan Plateau in western India. Its ancestors are likely various greyhounds such as the Afghan and the Saluki who came to India with traders and mercenaries. Today he is used as a hunting dog. Depending on the area, it is also known by other names. The name refers to the city of Mudhol near Bijapur . It is recognized as an independent breed so far only by a few Indian breeders' associations with different names such as "Mudhol" or "Caravan Hound".
