Mudhol ( Kannada : ಮುಧೋಳ Mudhōḷa ) is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka with 52,000 inhabitants (2011 census).

Until 1948 it was the capital of the Princely State of Mudhol .

Mudhol is located in the Bagalkot district in the north of Karnataka in the highlands of Dekkan at an altitude of around 550 meters above sea level on the banks of the Ghataprabha , a tributary of the Krishna . The city is the capital of the Taluk (sub-district) Mudhol. The district capital Bagalkot is 56 kilometers to the southeast.

The dog breed Mudhol Hound is named after the city of Mudhol .
