Cargo Edition is a label for electronic dance music founded in Leipzig in 2006 , especially a techno-oriented house .
history
It was launched by the DJ and music producer Matthias Tanzmann as a sub-label of Moon Harbor Recordings in order to offer a platform for techno-oriented music in addition to the house label. Over the years, Cargo Edition has developed into an independent label with a profile shaped by its own artists.
With Michael Melchner , Vera Heindel , Ekkohaus , Sven Tasnadi , Markus Schatz and Juno6 , Cargo Edition has been able to build up a permanent artist base since 2006. The stylistic spectrum of the sound ranges from the multi-layered, melodic tracks by Sven Tasnadi and Juno6 to the functional house by Ekkohaus and the detailed aesthetics that can be found in productions by Michael Melchner, to the reduced, dry grooves, such as you know her from Vera. The A & R of the label takes the founder Matthias Tanzmann.
So far, 24 EPs have been released on Cargo Edition (as of January 2015).
