Matthias Tanzmann (2015)

Matthias dance man (* 1977 in Leipzig ) is a German House - DJ and musician. The artist has been the A&R manager and creative director of his record label Moon Harbor Recordings since 2000 .

Life

Matthias Tanzmann has been part of the Leipzig techno and club scene since the 1990s. In 1997 he was one of the resident DJs at the Leipzig Club Distillery . Together with Daniel Scholz , he founded the Gamat 3000 project in 1997 , which published Dessous Recordings , Freude am Tanzen and the Frankfurt label Lo-Fi Stereo on Steve Bug's label , among others . In the summer of 1999 Feeling Love was published on Freude am Tanzen and received international attention.

Together with André Quaas, then co-operator of the distillery and co-founder of the Club-Guide 1000 ° , Tanzmann founded the label Moon Harbor Recordings in 2000 . The label released over 100 EPs, artist albums and compilations in the techhouse and deep house genres by January 2016 . Artists such as Robag Wruhme , Sven Tasnadi , Mathias Kaden , Marco Faraone, wAFF, Re.You and Cuartero have published on the label.

Since 2003 Tanzmann has been producing and publishing various singles and EPs at irregular intervals together with Daniel Stefanik under the project name Tanzmann & Stefanik .

In 2006 Matthias Tanzmann founded the Moon Harbor sister label Cargo Edition , on which artists such as Ekkohaus , Sven Tasnadi, Michael Melchner and Vera publish techno-oriented, minimalist house in 24 EPs .

In 2007 Tanzmann became resident DJ of the Circoloco event series at Club DC10 on Ibiza . In 2008 and 2011 Tanzmann's label released the Circoloco DC10 Ibiza compilation CDs. Various events took place around the world under the name Circoloco , several of them with Matthias Tanzmann.

In 2008 Matthias Tanzmann's first solo album was released under the name Restless .

In 2012 the compilation Fabric 65 was released , curated and mixed by Matthias Tanzmann. In the same year, the compilation Remixes 2002-2012 was published on Moon Harbor , which includes a selection of his remixes.

In 2012, Martin Buttrich and Davide Squillace formed the formation Better Lost than Stupid during the Electric Zoo Festival in New York .

In 2016, Matthias Tanzmann's second solo album was released under the name Momentum .
