Daniel Stefanik
Daniel Stefanik (* 1979 in Grossenhain ) is a German techno - DJ and musician . He is co-founder of the Leipzig labels Instabil, Cargo Edition and Oh! Yeah! Music.
Life
As a teenager, Stefanik first played the drums , but then turned to electronic music from the mid-1990s . As a DJ he mainly played Detroit techno . First appearances in clubs like the Berliner Tresor or the Strasse E in Dresden followed. After moving to Leipzig , he became a resident DJ in the Distillery and the Plauen Club Zooma.
Together with Matthias Tanzmann , the first productions began in 2003 as Tanzmann & Stefanik , which were released on the Leipzig label Moon Harbor Recordings . After his first solo album Silent Whisper (2005) , which was still digitally published , his first vinyl album Reactivity was released on Statik Entertainment in 2008 . In 2012 the third album Confidence followed on Sven Väth's label Cocoon Recordings . In 2014, another album, Genesis, was released on Statik Entertainment, which is strongly influenced by Detroit techno.
As a remixer, he provided reworks for tracks by Marko Fürstenberg ( Rennes Le Châteaux , 2005), Shed ( Connex , 2006), Onur Özer & Mathias Kaden ( Synkope , 2007) and Pan-Pot feat Cari Golden ( Captain My Captain , 2011) ). With his remix for Butch ( No Worries , 2011) Stefanik was named best remixer of the year by the readers of the music magazine Groove .
Together with Mathias Kaden he forms the duo Stefanik & Kaden .
As a DJ he appeared in numerous national and international clubs and also played at festivals such as Love Family Park , Th! Nk? , Tomorrowland , Fusion Festival , Amsterdam Dance Event , SonneMondSterne , Nachtdigital , Melt! or the Awakenings Festival.
Daniel Stefanik is married and has two children.
