Carl August Jordan

Carl August Jordan (born May 29, 1793 in Norkitten , † August 9, 1871 in Ragnit ) was a German pastor and politician.

Life

Jordan was the son of the pastor in Norkitten Friedrich Wilhelm Jordan and his wife Beate nee von Zippel. Jordan, who was a Protestant denomination, married Beante Eleonore Goetsch on July 10, 1818 in Insterburg (born November 11, 1801 in Neustadt in East Prussia; † December 12, 1857 in Ragnit), the daughter of Justice Commissioner Carl Johann Friedrich Goetsch. Wilhelm Jordan was a son.

Jordan participated in the Wars of Liberation in 1813/14. (1819) he was rector in Insterburg and (1829) preacher in Gumbinnen. From 1832 to 1871 he was pastor at the German pastor in Ragnit. In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
