Carl Christian von Breitenbauch

Carl Christian von Breitenbauch (* December 21, 1694 at Ranis Castle ; † April 29, 1726 in Frohburg ) was mining captain of the Duke of Saxony-Zeitz and after his death from 1718 royal Polish and electoral Saxon mining captain in the Neustadt and Vogtland districts as well Manor owner.

Life

Carl Christian von Breitenbauch comes from the Thuringian noble family von Breitenbauch and was the eldest son of Christoph Adam von Breitenbauch and Eva Elisabeth born von Gräfendorff. He grew up in the castle and town of Ranis in the Saxony-Zeitz secondary school and, like many of his family members, pursued a higher administrative career in the service of the Wettins . Duke Moritz Wilhelm von Sachsen-Zeitz appointed Carl Christian von Breitenbauch as his mining captain on April 29, 1717. When the Duke died a year later and the Duchy reverted to the Electorate of Saxony , he entered the service of Augustus the Strong as Mining Captain.

After the father's death in 1708, his possessions fell to him and his underage brothers. After reaching the age of majority in 1715, he personally accepted the enfeoffment at the Dresden court with Ranis Castle .

In 1716 and 1718 he took part in the state parliaments of the Electoral Saxony as a representative of the knighthood.

Since January 31, 1717 he was married to Friederike Bibiane von Bose († 1762), a daughter of the daughter of Carl Haubold von Bose (* 1653 - January 26, 1721) and Christiana Hedwig von Bünau († May 3, 1726) from Frohburg . The marriage remained childless. The widow married Freiherr August Friedrich Gotthilf von Marschall called Greiff for the second time .
