Carl Christoph Bernoulli

Carl Christoph Bernoulli (born February 21, 1861 in Basel ; † January 20, 1923 there ) was a Swiss librarian .

Life

Bernoulli came from the family of scholars Bernoulli . He studied classical philology and history at the University of Basel . He later switched to the University of Göttingen with the same subjects and finished his studies at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . At the age of 24 he got a job as a research assistant at the University Library of Basel , where he was promoted to senior librarian in 1891. In 1897 Bernoulli was entrusted with the management of the Association of Swiss Librarians . From the same year he also acted as editor of the “Annual Directory of Swiss University Theses”. He held these offices almost until the end of his life.

Carl Christoph Bernoulli died on January 20, 1923 in Basel at the age of 62.
