Carl Friedrich Kappstein
Carl Friedrich Kappstein (* 1869 in Potsdam , † 1933 in Berlin ) was a German animal and still life painter and graphic artist.
Since 1886 Kappstein studied painting at the Academy of Arts (Berlin) under Paul Friedrich Meyerheim . Kappstein's work was also influenced by the works of his friend Karl Hagemeister .
In 1893 and 1894, Kappstein visited Italy and Sicily .
Since 1905 Kappstein has been teaching lithography at the Royal Technical University of Charlottenburg . In 1910 his handbook of artistic lithography appeared.
Carl Friedrich Kappstein mainly painted animals, but also landscapes and still lifes. In 1904 he was awarded a small gold medal at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition .
