Carl Johann Friedrich Haltmeier

Carl Johann Friedrich Haltmeier (* 1698 probably in Verden ; † January 7, 1735 in Hanover ) was a German organist and composer .

Life

Carl Johann Friedrich Haltmeier's father Joachim Friedrich Haltmeier was a cousin of Georg Philipp Telemann's mother .

Born in Verden in 1698, he worked from 1720 to 1725 or 1726 in Hanover as an organist at the Marktkirche there . Meanwhile, on December 8th, he had acquired the citizenship of Hanover's old town. Also from 1725 or 1726 to 1735 Haltmeier held the position of the Royal British and Electoral Braunschweig-Lüneburg court organist or palace organist at the palace chapel of the Leineschloss .

In 1728 Telemann recorded a toccata in the magazine Der getreue Music-Meister, which he published , presumably a composition by Haltmeier.
