Carl Julius Meno Valett

Carl Julius Meno Valett (born September 21, 1787 in Erlangen ; † May 21, 1845 ) was a German law scholar and university professor.

Life

Valett was a son of the Erlangen private lecturer in philosophy Johann Jakob Meno Valett (1758-1850), later rector in Glückstadt , from 1814 in Stade . After attending school in Glückstadt and then joined the Danish military, where he served as a lieutenant in the Queen's body regiment (Danish Dronningens Livregiment ) in Glückstadt. In 1815 he began studying law at the University of Göttingen , which he finished in 1819 with a doctorate. As early as 1818 he worked as a lecturer at the university and, after completing his habilitation, stayed there until 1842 as a private lecturer in law. He read legal history, introduction to law and institutions. At the University of Göttingen he received the bursary in 1842 .

The missionary in India and later superintendent in Sandstedt Phillip Ludwig Meno Valett (born August 22, 1813 in Glückstadt, † March 28, 1892 in Bremen) was a younger brother.
