Carl Daniel Maria Kau (born April 24, 1954 in Cologne ) is a Bremen politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

education and profession

Kau attended the modern language grammar school in Rodenkirchen near Cologne, where he graduated from high school. He then did his community service in a Cologne hospital . From 1975 to 1981 he studied law . He then completed an apprenticeship at WGZ-Bank in Düsseldorf from 1981 to 1983 . After completing his apprenticeship, he did a traineeship at the Cologne Higher Regional Court until 1985 .

From 1985 to 1988 he was again an employee of the WGZ-Bank. In 1988 he moved to Commerzbank and worked in corporate banking and since 2001 as regional branch manager in Bremen. Carl Kau has headed the Bremen branch of the Oldenburgische Landesbank since 2009 .

He is married and has three children.

politics

Kau is a CDU member in the Schwachhausen district . He was a member of the Bremen Parliament from 2007 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2015.

There he was represented in the committee for port affairs in the state of Bremen, committee for integration, federal and European affairs, international contacts and development cooperation, budget and finance committee (state and city), audit committee (state and city) as well as in the municipal deputation for Economy, work and ports. He was parliamentary group spokesman for auditing.

From 2011 to December 2014 he was state treasurer of the CDU Bremen .
