Carl Leopold Planck von Planckburg (born November 14, 1802 in Linz ; † January 17, 1868 there ) was an Austrian banker .

Life

Carl Leopold came from the noble family Planck von Planckburg. After training at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna, he took up an internship with his uncle Josef Planck, a specialty merchant in Linz, Hauptplatz 16. Another followed between 1822 and 1825 in the wholesale house Hößlin, Springer and Komp. In Trieste .

As a landowner, Planck was the owner of the lords of Feyregg, Piberbach and Weyer in the Traunviertel, Achleiten and Hehenberg, as well as the office wake-up service.

Since 1841 he was a public shareholder and since the death of his father Franz Planck in 1844 the head of the house JM Scheibenpogens Eidam , Linz, Hauptplatz 11, which after his death in 1869 was converted into the bank for Upper Austria and Salzburg, Oberbank . From 1844 he was a member of the board of the trade as a mercantile and change court assessor and an advisory member of the provincial commission.

In 1848 he was a major in the National Guard and in 1849 became the curator of the newly founded Allgemeine Sparkasse in Linz. In 1850, Planck was elected to the municipal council and member of the Linz Chamber of Commerce.

He was a member of the state parliament of the Liberal Party from June 8, 1861 to December 22, 1866.

In 1861 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Franz Joseph Order and the Knight's Cross of the Papal Order of Gregory .

Planck was married and had four children. He is buried at the St. Barbara Cemetery in Linz.
