Carl Mahr

Carl Mahr (born December 22, 1900 in Essen , † 1991 in Marburg ) was a German chemist and university professor .

Carl Mahr studied chemistry and agriculture from 1919 to 1928 in Jena, Freiburg im Breisgau, Hof Geisberg / Wiesbaden and Marburg. He received his doctorate in 1928 under Wilhelm Strecker at the University of Marburg and completed his habilitation there in 1936 in inorganic and analytical chemistry. He then worked there as a lecturer until 1938, before moving to the Technical University of Karlsruhe , from 1942 as an adjunct professor. The following year he returned to Marburg as an associate professor. There he became a personal professor in 1955 and a full professor in 1962. He retired in 1969.

His field of work was inorganic analytics , especially using complex compounds. He became known as the author of internship guides for students.
