Carl Nicolaus Adler (* 1737 ; † 1816 in Stade ) was a German lawyer and mayor of the city ​​of Stade.

In 1766 Carl Nicolaus Adler was elected to the City Council of Stade. He joined the Stade Wall Cut in 1770. As a district administrator, he was jointly responsible for the poor commission from 1787. Since 1788 he has been the presiding mayor of the council. Due to the French occupation, Stade was incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and Adler was deposed as mayor in 1810. For a short time in 1813, Adler was again district administrator and mayor when the French had to withdraw from the area around Hamburg .
