Carl Traugott Schmidt
Carl Traugott Schmidt , also modernized Karl Traugott Schmidt , († May 1792 in Johanngeorgenstadt ) was a Saxon mountain master , mountain sworn and guardein .
He was the son of the Obersteigers Schmidt from Johanngeorgenstadt and after his training as a miner he worked as an Obersteiger on the Gotthelf-Schaller-Frundgrube on the Eibenstocker Straße on the Fastenberg until 1768 . In 1769 he was elected a mountain jury. He held this office until 1780, when he took over the management of the Johanngeorgenstadt Mining Authority . He held the position of miner for twelve years until his death in 1792.
His solemn funeral took place on May 6, 1792 at 4 a.m.
