Carl W. Hergenrother (* 1973 ) is an American astronomer and asteroid explorer.
He works at the University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory at Tucson . Together with the astronomers of the Catalina Sky Survey discovered a total of 29 asteroids from 1993 to January 2010 .
He is also the discoverer of several comets such as C / 1996 R1 (Hergenrother-Spahr) , 168P / Hergenrother , 175P / Hergenrother and P / 1999 V1 (Catalina) .
Honors
The asteroid (3099) Hergenrother was named after him.
