Carlo Minchiatti

Carlo Minchiatti (born December 30, 1915 in San Valentino della Collina , Province of Perugia , Italy , † April 11, 1996 in Benevento ) was Archbishop of Benevento .

Life

Minchiatti was ordained a priest on July 9, 1939 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him in 1969 auxiliary bishop in Aquino, Sora and Pontecorvo . On November 9, 1969, Archbishop Ferdinando Lambruschini donated him episcopal ordination. On May 29, 1971 Minchiatti himself became Bishop of Aquino, Sora and Pontecorvo before he became Archbishop of Benevento in 1982. He laid the foundation stone for the new seminary in November 1985. On June 8, 1990, with papal permission, he elevated the Franciscans of the Immaculate to the institute of consecrated life under episcopal law.

On November 25, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted the resignation he had submitted for reasons of age and appointed Serafino Sprovieri as his successor. Carlo Minchiatti died five years later.
