Carlo Simi
Carlo Simi (born November 7, 1924 in Viareggio , † November 26, 2000 in Rome ) was an Italian architect , production designer and costume designer .
Simi became known for his work for Sergio Leones and Sergio Corbucci's Spaghetti Western . His most famous creation, the western town of El Paso , can still be seen as mini Hollywood on the edge of the Tabernas desert . He also created entire streets for other films and had an enormous influence on the image design of the works.
For Once Upon a Time in America , Simi received the Nastro d'Argento for the best equipment.
