Carlos Hernández (boxer, 1939)

Carlos Hernández (born April 22, 1939 in Caracas , Venezuela as Carlos Enrique Hernández Ramos , † July 2, 2016 ) was a Venezuelan boxer . On January 18, 1965 he boxed in the light welterweight division against Eddie Perkins for the world title of the associations WBC and WBA and won over 15 rounds by split point decision. He defended this belt in the same year against Mario Rossito and Percy Hayles . The Italian Sandro Lopopolo took the title from him at the end of April of the following year over 15 rounds by majority decision.
