Carlos Humberto Loitey

Carlos Humberto Loitey (* 1957 ) is a Lieutenant General from Uruguay who has been Military Advisor to the Peacekeeping Operations Department at the UN Secretariat since 2016 .

Life

Loitey joined the Fuerzas Armadas del Uruguay , the armed forces of Uruguay , after attending school in 1976 , and found numerous uses as an army officer (Ejército Nacional) after graduating from the Army and War Academy . He was later a military attaché at the embassy in the USA , director general of the Institute for Military Services and director general of the National Support System for Peace Missions. At times he was at the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad used (MINURCAT), a permanent September 2007 to December 2010 the Mission United Nations in Chad and the Central African Republic .

On November 22, 2016 Lieutenant General Loitey as the successor to from Pakistan coming Maqsood Ahmed of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to the military adviser to the Department of Peacekeeping Operations in the UN Secretariat appointed to the information provided by the member countries of the United Nations peacekeeping forces in observer missions and peacekeeping missions directs.
