Carlos Obligado

Carlos Obligado (born May 21, 1890 in Buenos Aires ; † February 3, 1949 there ) was an Argentine writer and translator.

Obligado comes from a very wealthy family; his father was Rafael Obligado , "the poet of Paraná" and Pedro Miguel Obligado was his younger brother. He studied philosophy at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and was able to successfully complete this course with a doctorate . He then got a job in the state administration, which he retained regardless of the political changes (coup by José Félix Uriburu ). Later he was appointed secretary by the Academie Argentina de Letras and as such he was also entrusted with the management of the Instituto de Literatura Argentina "Ricardo Rojas" . Carlos Obligado died on February 3, 1949 in Buenos Aires at the age of almost 59 and was buried there.
