Carlos Enrique Valdés Parra (born May 22, 1985 in Cali ) is a Colombian football player .
Player career
Beginning in Colombia
In 2005, Valdés began his career as a football player at Real Cartagena . Due to his good performance, América de Cali was to whom he moved in early 2006. In the next four years one of the top performers was in the defense of the team. In 2009 he switched to Santa Fe CD .
Change to the USA
On January 20, 2011 Carlos Valdés moved to Philadelphia Union in the Major League Soccer . He made his debut on March 19, 2011 on the first day of the 2011 season.
In February 2015 he joined the Uruguayan first division club Nacional Montevideo . He signed a one-year contract with the "Bolsos". In the 2014/15 season he ran eight times (no goal) in the Primera División and won the Uruguayan championship with the Montevideans. In July 2015, he moved to Independiente Santa Fe and so far (as of September 24, 2016) has played two top division games (no goal).
National team
For the Colombian national football team , Valdés was on the pitch for the first time in 2008. Before that he played for the U-20s of Colombia, with whom he won the U-20 South American Football Championship in 2005. He was also part of the squad for the subsequent FIFA World Youth Championship .
