Carlos Javier Weber (born January 6, 1966 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine volleyball player and current coach. During his playing days, he played 613 international matches. He took part in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and won the bronze medal with the team.

Weber started his career in Argentina at River Plate, where he graduated from all junior areas.

He played in Argentina, Italy and Brazil . In Italy he played for Club Sportivo Italiano , Palermo Volley , Volley Lupi Santa Croce , Volley Prato , Pallavolo San Giorgio Mestre and Naples Volley . After a stay with Vélez Sarsfield, he went to Brazil in the 1997/98 season. He played for Ulbra, where he won two Brazilian championships. In 1998 and 1999 he was voted the best player in the Brazilian SuperLiga. In his last year as a player he was also the technical director of his team Unisul.

National team

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, he won the bronze medal with the national team. He also participated in the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympics. At the Pan American Games in 1995 he won the gold medal. At the South American championships in 1992 he won the Konex Award as one of the five best volleyball players of the decade in Argentina.

Trainer

In 2003 he began his coaching career at Unisul, with which he won a Brazilian championship. For the 2005/06 season he went to Greece to Panathinaikos Athens and won the Greek championship. For the next season he came back to Argentina and signed a contract with Bolivar. With this team he won four Argentine championships and four ACLAV cups. From 2008 to 2013 he coached the Argentine men's national team and won three silver medals at the South American championships. In 2013 he went to VK Dynamo Krasnodar for one season . From 2014 to 2020 he was again the coach of Bolivar. He has been a trainer in Brazil at Funvic Taubaté since April 2020.
