The Carlton Hotel St. Moritz in St. Moritz was designed by the architect Emil Vogt , built in collaboration with the architects Koch & Seiler and opened in 1913. It was the fifth five-star hotel in town.

After the hotel got off to a successful start, the First World War broke out. The long war time led to a considerable decrease in the number of guests. The hotel became the property of the Swiss Volksbank . The hotel was successfully run in the 1930s. The Second World War ended this high phase and the hotel was closed in September 1939. The hotel only briefly reopened its doors in the winter of 1947/1948. Numerous changes of ownership followed until in 1987 the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz was taken over by the Tschuggen Hotel Group . In 2006–2007 the hotel was completely renovated.

The building is registered under the number 3305 in the list of monuments of Graubünden .
