Carlyle House is a residential and commercial building in the Scottish town of Haddington in the East Lothian council area . In 1971 the building was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A.

The building is just off Lodge Street in central Haddington, not far from Town Hall . It was built in the middle of the 18th century. The exact year of construction is not recorded. Located in the middle of a closed street, the house has two neighboring buildings.

The two-story Carlyle House is designed in a classical style. The north-facing front is directly on the street and is five axes wide. The central entrance portal is designed with a round arch . Just like on the edges of the building, the masonry is rusticated there . On the upper floor, four Corinthian pilasters structure the façade of the protruding central component. They have a cornice , which stands out in its simple execution from the detailed ornamented facade. Above it emerges a cornice on corbels . This is designed with a balustrade and urns.
